Only good thing i can say is that it arrived early, other than that – absolutely awful – DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM – unpacked and most of the parts were marked or
dented – unable to put together due to damage and it was not shipping damage either – someone ACTUALLY packed it like that – called their customer service which sounded like it was a guy working out of his home – he said he’d send replacement parts – which he did about 2 weeks later – got those and THEY WERE DAMAGED beyond use too – I mean WTF??? Ended up calling Amazon and sent it back – terrible product – terrible Innovex customer service – Amazon was great with refund though.

This is a heavy and relatively hard to assemble piece of furniture. I’ve done a lot of “some assembly required” items and this ranks up there with one of the most awkward to assemble (it would probably be easier if you had two people).
One word of warning: When screwing the sides of the drawers onto the drawer face you MUST NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE otherwise you will rip the poorly seated anchor from the pressboard. When this happens (and it WILL happen if you aren’t careful) you will need some superglue to re-seat the anchor back into the drawer face. I would have just returned it right then and there, but I had the thing 85% put together at that point.
Once assembled the drawers don’t glide smoothly on their tracks and, when combined with the above problem of poorly attached drawer fronts, when they snag you may find yourself holding a drawer front that you’ve just ripped off.
As others have documented it is not ideal for hanging files.
Provided it still has all the drawer fronts, it is a nice enough looking piece of office furniture.
I set out assembling this cabinet having a lot of experience and little trouble with similar furniture. This one for some reason gave me a very hard time. Maybe the instructions weren’t clear and I was tired, but it is very easy to get it wrong forcing you to have to disassemble and start over. So, read the instructions very carefully and don’t presume anything! Just because there’s a hole the other side used, don’t overlook the instructions based on your assumption.
This is a very nice cabinet, but assembling it was a bear for me. It took me four long tedious painstaking hours. The very last thing to do was snap on the back, and that didn’t fit quite right and took a lot of work.

INNOVEX KM02 Filing Cabinet, Medium Cherry
One side panel was constructed incorrectly, so the file cabinet cannot be put together until it is replaced. How long will that take?

This file cabinet is spacious all over. The two drawers hold a lot and the cabinet hold a lot of files. I’m happy with this solid piece.
